CTA Gentlemen’s Club: Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Today
The Cedar Tree Gentlemen’s Club is a mentorship program designed to guide young boys in kindergarten through third grade, helping them develop character, self-respect, and leadership skills. Rooted in strong values and respectful traditions, our club focuses on teaching boys how to be gentlemen in a modern world, emphasizing personal growth, positive behavior, and confidence.
Through fun, engaging lessons and activities, boys will be introduced to important life skills such as respect, responsibility, good manners, and emotional intelligence. Our goal is to build a strong foundation that will serve them well as they grow into respectful, well-rounded young men.
CTA Multimedia Club: Building Skills and Confidence Through Creativity
The CTA Multimedia Club, designed for students in kindergarten through 3rd grade, will teach foundational media skills while fostering creativity, teamwork, and leadership. It will provide students with hands-on experience operating cameras, filming, and editing videos, culminating in the production of our school’s daily morning announcements. The Multimedia Club will empower our youngest learners to engage in technology and communication in a fun and meaningful way. This initiative will serve both as an educational enrichment program and a platform to enhance school-wide engagement.
CTA OWLS’ ART WORLD
Owls’ Art World is an engaging art club designed to bring out the artist in every child. Students will experiment with various art techniques, including painting, drawing, and sculpting, while exploring themes of positivity and creativity. Each session inspires students to bring their imagination to life through hands-on projects. Far as benefits, this club enhances creativity, supports fine motor skills, boosts self-confidence, and fosters a positive outlook. Students will learn to express themselves artistically and collaborate with others, all while having fun and creating art they’ll be proud to display.
CTA Garden to Table Club (cooking and gardening)
The Garden to Table club is a hands-on initiative that will engage students in environmental stewardship, healthy eating, and community-building. This club will be dedicated to revitalizing the school’s garden beds and creating a sustainable learning environment where students grow and harvest their own plants, using seedlings generously provided by the University of the District of Columbia (UDC).
The Garden to Table Club will offer an exciting, meaningful opportunity for students to connect with nature, develop important life skills, and learn about nutrition in a fun and interactive way. We believe this initiative will greatly benefit our students, providing them with invaluable experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
CTA Girl Scouts-Daisies
A Girl Scout Daisy is in kindergarten or first grade of elementary school—the perfect time to become a Girl Scout! A Girl Scout Daisy has screen-free fun, makes new friends, and learns about her world. Fun, friendship, and hands-on learning activities await first- and second-year Girl Scouts. Everything Daisies do—from planting a garden to making a circle of friends—sparkles with that “first time ever” newness. Along the way, Daisies gain important social skills, learn how to be a good friend, and discover the world around them. Every Daisy meeting is an adventure filled with sisterhood, giggles, learning, and fun!
CTA Girls Scouts-Brownies
A Girl Scout Brownie is in second or third grade of elementary school—a fantastic time to become a Girl Scout! A Girl Scout Brownie goes on outdoor adventures, plays fun games, and explores her interests. As a Brownie, she’ll leave her comfort zone, meet new people, and experience personal growth. Brownies learn how the world works, fall in love with the great outdoors, and share their interests—from bugs to ballet—with a small group of true friends. Along the way, Brownies try and explore new things, gain important social skills, and, of course, have a blast; they’re excited to discover all they can do and be.
